Listen to my story:
From Senegal to California, and far beyond my work through wood floors

There are moments in life that feel like alignment. Being featured on the NWFA Wood Talk podcast last July with Brett Miller was one of them. Not because I was looking for visibility but because I was ready to let people in. To share not just what I do, but why I do it. If you’ve ever questioned your path, pivoted careers, or built something from the ground up, this conversation will resonate. It’s not just about wood floors, it’s about identity, resilience, creative leadership, and rewriting the script of what’s possible.

When an unexpected path becomes your purpose

Many people know me as the founder of Floors by Fall Design or the woman behind Empower Global Women and Villa Siga Fall. But few know that I entered the flooring industry by accident.

I applied for a job thinking it was interior design. It was flooring.

The first few months were humbling. I didn’t know the rules, the techniques, or even if I belonged. But what seemed like a detour became the beginning of a deeper mission: One that blends craftsmanship with community, and vision with values.

That’s the story I share on the podcast. The raw, honest, and transformative and beautiful beginning that shaped everything that followed

Craftsmanship is personal

From the Wilder Project to the launch of Dak’Art Wall, I’ve always seen wood not as a material, but as a medium. A way to tell stories. A way to connect.
That’s why I take pride in doing things right, even when it means starting over. When we launched our new wall panel collection, the first attempt didn’t feel right. We stopped, regrouped, and brought in a new team. The difference was immediate.
You’ll hear more about that in the episode. Because for me, it’s not just about functionality. It’s about soul.

What fuels my work

Yes, I run a business. Yes, I manage teams, projects, and product lines. But what really keeps me going is connection:

  • The client who comes back five years later with a new idea
  • The handwritten note after an install
  • The first-time entrepreneur who feels seen because of Empower Global Women

In the podcast, I talk about these moments. The ones that remind me that entrepreneurship is not just execution, it’s emotional labor, It’s vision, It’s purpose.

This episode is more than a spotlight. It’s an invitation.

To reimagine your own path.
To find meaning in the work you do.
To believe that even the most unexpected turns can lead to your mission.

If you’ve ever felt torn between creativity and business, personal life and ambition, or between continents like I have, this episode will speak to you.
